Unlike the USA, Britain doesn't have a State approved and backed Civilian Marksmanship program that teaches Firearms safety, skill and competency. Competitive shooting has always been a popular activity in Britain, and a sport where our nation has excelled. It is also in the best interests of the population and community to have skilled marksmen, for various needs including better understanding and teaching of respect. This marksmanship program, run by the correct authorities and governing bodies would allow access to subsidised firearms and ammunition for sale to registered members and their sale would generate revenue to the exchequor and defense budgets.
